Welcome to the International School of Madrid Summer School, which offers a...
Once again, the senior school put on another magnificent musical extravaganza just before the Easter holidays. Conchita Sande had members of Year 7-13 ‘oompa-lumping’ around the stage, with the professionalism of a Broadway musical. If you looked closely, there were even a few staff members working hard in Willy Wonka’s Chocolate factory.
Well done to all involved!
ISM are proud to announce the construction of an additional school building at Rosa Jardón, 3. The building is underway at the moment and is making good progress.
This is a very exciting stage in the life of ISM and we are delighted to share this new development with the ISM family.
Please feel free to contact the school for more information. We will be posting photos as the construction progresses.
With the return of the good weather, ISM students have been representing the school at different sporting competitions. Over the past 2 weeks, Year 10 & 11 boys came 2nd and Year 6 & 7 girls came 6th in the Madrid British and International Schools Basketball Competition.
Well done to both teams! We are very proud of you.
Just before semana blanca, all students in years 7, 8 and 9 went to the cinema to see this year’s ‘mejor película’ – Campeones. For some, it was their 4th time seeing this important movie and they still haven’t had enough. On our return to school, we were extremely fortunate to be visited by Álvaro Longoria, the film’s producer who also has his children at ISM. Álvaro gave us a wonderful talk about the journey to get the movie made and then the students had an opportunity to ask questions and get to hold a real Goya.
Many thanks to Álvaro for giving up his time to speak to us and answer so many questions, and to Conchita Sande for organising the day.
With just 3 months to go before external exams start, Year 13 are already beginning to prepare for the end of their time at ISM. Sweatshirts have just arrived which many of them will be wearing on the ski slopes next week during ‘semana blanca’.
However, there is just the small matter of internal examinations to get through before they can hit the slopes. Years 11-13 are sitting exams in all their subjects this week. This is a great indicator for both staff and students of how they will do in the summer.
Good luck to them all!
