When they reach Year 7, pupils move to our custom built Secondary site, just a short distance away from Primary. Years 7 to 9 are known as Key Stage Three and here pupils follow the full range of English National Curriculum subjects, taught by our excellent specialist teachers. Subjects include: English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, French, Art & Design, Computing, Music, Drama, Physical Education & Sports, Religion or Citizenship. In addition, Spanish language and humanities (Cultura Española) are taught according to local Spanish requirements (around 20% of curriculum time).
In addition many Year 7 pupils take the Cambridge English as a Second Language (ESOL) PET examination and Year 9 pupils the First Certificate English (FCE) examination. In addition the French department prepares pupils for the Alliance Francaise CAF tests, achieving some outstanding results. As pupils at ISM start French in Year 5, a high level can be reached, meaning that our pupils havethe possibility of being proficient in three languages, English, Spanish and French.
Secondary pupils benefit from a range of specialist facilities, including science laboratories, computer suites, art studios and our large sports hall. Sports lessons also regularly take place at nearby pitches and tracks (including for swimming, athletics and team games).
