Catch all for stories about ISM in general
Not long to go…
With just 3 months to go before external exams start, Year 13 are already beginning to prepare for the end of their time at ISM. Sweatshirts have just arrived which many of them will be wearing on the ski slopes next week during ‘semana blanca’.
However, there is just the small matter of internal examinations to get through before they can hit the slopes. Years 11-13 are sitting exams in all their subjects this week. This is a great indicator for both staff and students of how they will do in the summer.
Good luck to them all!

Christmas Shows
The standard of this year’s Christmas Shows was incredibly high. Thank you to all involved for your effort and dedication. Tuesday saw modern dance and percussion followed by key stage two performing the musicals “Children of the World” and “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”. This was followed on Thursday by the ballet show, the foundation stage performance of “The Lost Little Reindeer” and key stage one’s traditional Nativity. Filling an 800 seat theatre on two nights is an amazing achievement. Well done!

Year 10-11 Football Tournament
Congratulations to all players in the tournament on Thursday 15th November. Mr O’Riordan made the following comment about the competition:
‘We won 1 game, lost 1 and drew 1 and only went out on goal difference so we came 5th overall. We have a very strong squad and most of our players can play again next year so I’m really looking forward to that- something to build on and hope to win next year!’

3rd prize in the World Robot Olympiad!!!
We wish to congratulate Razwan, Guillermo and Mateo, from the KS3 Robotics Club in Secondary, who came third in the Spanish finals of the World Robot Olympiad in September. This is a tremendous achievement. This group, classed in the ‘rookie’ category, had to build their robot from scratch and undertake a specific task in under 2 minutes. 80 groups participated and ISM was the only school to do so. This activity points to the future, as we are told that many of the jobs of the future will be done by robots. At ISM we are very aware that we need to prepare our students for jobs which have not yet been invented. This means a focus on skills and abilities, including social, communication and language skills and emotional intelligence.
