International School of Madrid has been recognised this year by the Good Schools Guide, Micole’s “100 Mejores Colegios”, El Mundo, Forbes and El País as one of the best schools in Spain, and I could not be more proud to share this news with our community.
A shared achievement
These accolades belong first and foremost to our students, who bring curiosity, kindness and determination to school every day. Their academic results open doors to leading universities, but just as importantly, they leave ISM as thoughtful, internationally minded young people ready to contribute positively to the world.
Our teachers and support staff are the heartbeat of the school. They design rich learning experiences, go the extra mile to know each child as an individual, and model the respect and responsibility we expect in our classrooms and corridors.
Why these rankings matter
Independent guides and rankings such as the Good Schools Guide, Micole, El Mundo, Forbes and El País look closely at academic outcomes, educational innovation, student wellbeing and family satisfaction. Being highlighted by such a range of organisations confirms that ISM is offering a balanced, future‑focused education that stands out in a very competitive Madrid and national landscape.
For families, these recognitions provide an external validation of what you already see and feel when you walk through our doors: a welcoming, family‑oriented environment, a rigorous British education, and a strong sense of internationalism rooted in the culture of Madrid.
Our educational vision
Since 1971, ISM has grown from a small family school into a diverse international community while remaining true to our founding values of respect, effort and care for each child. We offer a high‑quality British curriculum from age 2 to 18, guiding students towards IGCSEs and A‑Levels that are recognised by universities in the UK, Spain, the US and around the world.
At the same time, we embrace our Spanish context, ensuring our students are fully bilingual and at home in both educational systems. Our graduates move confidently between cultures, languages and countries, which is one of the greatest gifts an international education can provide.
Looking ahead
While we are delighted with these recognitions, they do not mark an endpoint; they motivate us to keep improving. In the coming years we will continue investing in excellent teaching, languages, the arts, sport, digital learning and student wellbeing so that every young person at ISM can flourish.
To our students, families, staff and alumni: thank you for the trust you place in this school and for the many ways you contribute to our vibrant community. Together, we will ensure that International School of Madrid not only appears on lists of the “best schools”, but continues to be the right school for every child who walks through our doors.
