Every child is a unique child, who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured.
The indoor and outdoor learning enviroments are carefully designed to provide exciting opportunities for children not just to play, but to explore, learn actively and to think critically.
An abundance of practical resources allow children to initiate learning for themselves.
Those who begin learning a second language early use the same part of the brain as they do to learn their first language. This means that children who are immersed from a young age have the best advantage in developing the pronunciation, structure and intonation of the English Language easily and successfully.
At ISM our aim is that by end of year 2, children will be achieving in line with their British counterparts and that by the en of Year 6 and beyond they will, on average, be achieving at a higher level than those in the UK.
At ISM children are immersed in English right from the very beginning. This means that they very quickly start to use the language confidently, even if they don´t speak it at home.
Through a wide range of carefully planned activities, children learn to speak and express themselves, and to listen and respond in a range of situtations, in language rich environment. They are encouraged to link sounds to letters and begin to read and write.
Children learn how to work, play and co-operate with others.
They are encouraged to develop a positive sense of themselves and understand to manage their feelings.
They develop independence and a confidence in their own abilities.
Children develop their physical control and co-ordination, as well as an awareness of space. They develop an understanding of the importance of physical activity and are encouraged to make healthy choices. They have plenty of opportunities to play outdoors and to run, jump and climb. They regularly participate in physical education sessions with a qualified PE teacher to help develop their control and balance. Carefully chosen clasrooms activities help children to develop the fine motor skills required when beginning to write.
